This has been another awesome year for VKOT! We hope that the work that we're trying to do is making a difference in the lives of our student body and the community in general. We continue to try to educate our peers about how addictive nicotine is and the high concentration of nicotine in the various vape juices being marketed today. Our school district, Bryan ISD, is so supportive of what we are trying to do. During the 2023 - 24 school year, Bryan ISD allowed us to host another training with students in grades 7 - 12. It is our goal to start prevention groups in each of our intermediate schools, so that they learn early how nicotine and vaping can negatively impact their lives. As students proceed from grade to grade, they will continue to be educated about the harmful substances that are in vape e-cig juices. Please join us in this fight to protect youth from going down a road of addiction.

From the President's Desk
Hello,
My name is Gabriela Garcia and I'm the President of VKOT for the 2024-25 school year. I would like to welcome you to the VKOT website! I look forward to leading VKOT and inspiring our members, so that they know that the sky is the limit! There isn't anything we can't do if we put our minds to it. I have been in VKOT since my freshman year and have loved every minute of it. I have dedicated my self to serving others and will continue to do so after graduation. I have enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps and look forward to serving my country and fellow man.
VKOT will continue to strive for a tobacco free generation and I hope that children will have the opportunity to grow up in a society that is free of tobacco and other harmful substances. It is my sincere hope that our government put the lives of youth ahead of money and big tobacco companies by ending all flavors. The research shows that the majority of users start before they are 21 and start because of the flavors that are available. I dream of the day when tobacco companies will stop marketing to children. We know that they do, even if they say they don't.
