WHO WE ARE
Vikings Kicking Out Tobacco is a group of passionate students at Bryan High School. We are a student-run organization that has fought to end the use of tobacco since we were founded in 2014. VKOT is run in partnership with BVCASA; a non-profit substance and alcohol abuse prevention and treatment center. We pride ourselves on our efforts to reduce the amount of tobacco used by both youth and adults. We work with our local school district, community, and government to fight against tobacco.

VKOT stands proudly against tobacco and other drugs. Our goal is to provide people with the facts they need to quit or even never start using tobacco products. We aim to prevent people from ever using a single tobacco product and other drugs. Since we were founded, we have done hundreds of projects all relating to tobacco prevention. All of our projects spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco and provide information about how it damages your health.
WHAT WE DO
VKOT does many projects in order to educate and spread awareness on the harms of tobacco products. We often perform different things within our own school such as hanging posters, creating announcements, and having an educational booth during lunches, all of which contain valuable information regarding tobacco. Outside of our school, we pick up tobacco litter in parks, host community learning events, and speak with members of the government in order to reduce the number of people using tobacco. One of our biggest accomplishments is assisting in raising the legal age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21.
